Coloud Flag Series Headphones

Coloud is a Swedish company that was started in 2009 with 15 headphones based on Hello Kitty, Marvel, Star Wars and Fame the movie. Their mission is similar to other headphone companies which is to make stylish headphones that sound great. Today, I will review their new Flag Series headphones.

The Coloud Flag Series are the same as the company's most popular headphones, the C22's. However, these headphones were built with an added microphone and an obvious complete change in design. The C22 headphones have a tight fit and offer some noise isolation for a better overall sound quality. Some might feel that the Coloud C22 headphones are too small and uncomfortable for long periods of time since the earcups don't have enough padding. They have less bass than the V-Moda Crossfade LP headphones. As of now, Coloud has 3 countries represented in the Flag Series: U.S, Jamaica & Brazil. The Jamaica and Brazil edition of these headphones are extremely stylish and modern while the same cant be said for the over-the-top U.S version.

Price: $39.90

Pros
  • Tight Fit
  • Brazil & Jamaica Edition
  • Reasonable Price

Quincy Jones AKG Q350 In-Ear Headphones

The AKG Q350 In-Ear Headphones are the cheapest in the Quincy Jones line. While the design of the headphones isn't flashy like most V-Modas, the neon green looks great and is modern and stylish without being too much. Each colored earbud comes with the Quincy Jones signature neon green cord. The earbuds feel extremely durable while being light as well. The earbuds themselves are much more comfortable than any other in-ear headphone that I have tried on. They also block out most sounds without being completely noise-canceling. The audio quality doesn't disappoint either. Sound is perfectly balanced between highs and lows. In my opinion, there is just enough bass without being overpowering. For the price, these are the best in-ear headphones that I have reviewed. If you are looking for a sub-$100 pair of premium in-ear stylish headphones, the AKG Q350's are your best option. They come in 3 colors: White, Black and Neon Green

Pros
  • Build Quality
  • Balanced Sound
  • Lime Green Cord

Marshall Major Headphones

Marshall is a British company that is known for their premium music amplifiers. The Marshall company is synonymous with everything rock n' roll. Most famous musicians use Marshall amplifiers when on tour. Recently, they have developed their first signature headphones.
The Marshall headphones feature a classic and elegant design that fits the same style that their company is known for. The band and earcups are covered in vinyl, just like most of Marshall's amps. These are on-ear instead of around-ear headphones. The signature Marshall logo is located on the outside of each earcup. Another feature is the gold plated Marshall plak that can be found in the middle of the band, above the L and R signs.  There is a gold Jim Marshall (founder) signature underneath the earband which I really like. Sound quality is good but not for every genre type. Another problem I have with these is that they are called collapsible when they aren't. Overall, the Marshall Major's are a great option for fans of the company and those who want a classic and elegant look with their headphones.

Philips/O'Neill "The Stretch" Headphones

Philips and O'Neill have partnered to create a line of stylish headphones for the younger demographic. This is not one of the first times that a consumer electronics company has teamed up with a surfing brand (see Roxy Reference 430 JBL Headphones). Today I will review The Stretch headphones.
The O'Neil influence can be seen in the stylish design through the use of different color combinations. The Black Bordeaux edition of these headphones have a smoky black headband that I really like.  Since these headphones are called "The Stretch", they were created to be ultra-durable and impact resistant. Phillips has succeeded in that these headphones are one of the most durable headphones on the market today. They remain cool at all times and can take a beating in any bag or luggage. The tangle free cord is wrapped in fabric which is a nice touch. The best thing about the cord is the stress relief/breakaway feature that keeps it from breaking the cable in pulling accidents. Sound quality is nothing special, but also not terrible. Also, the amount of of bass in these headphones is sufficient, but nothing fantastic. The rugged construction and decent sound quality make the Philips Stretch headphones a good option for anyone looking for impact resistant and ultra-durable headphones. They come in 2 colors: Black Bordeaux & Powder White.

Price: $49.99

Pros
  • Extremely Durable
  • Modern Design
  • Detachable Cord
Cons
  • Mediocre Bass
  • Noise Reduction
Overall Rating: 8/10

Tron T3 Monster In-Ear Headphones

The Monster Tron T3 headphones are incredibly uniquely designed in-earbuds that feature a stylish look at a reasonable price. They have the same Tron logo that the over-ear Daft Punk Monster Tron T1 Headphones have that I reviewed earlier. They have the signature Flat Cord that is on every new Monster headphone. The headphones come with 3 eartips for maximum comfort. If you prefer small in-ear headphones, and like the Tron design, then these are a great option.

Benny Fairfax WeSC Headphones

Benny Fairfax is another professional skateboarder who has collaborated with WeSC to become one of their "activists." His headphones are all black and feature his signature on one side of the earcup and the standard WeSC logo on the other. The headphones offer a good amount of comfort while being sleek and small. Although most audiophile's wont want these, sound quality surprisingly good on these headphones. They don't come with any accessories but overall, these headphones are a good value.

Siege Audio Elevens Headphones

Siege Audio is a relatively new up and coming company hat has sponsored a skate/snow team which includes professional snowboarders, Jeremy Jones and Seth Huot. The company has developed a line of stylish headphones that provide great sound quality. Today, I will review the Elevens, which are the most expensive headphones offered by Siege Audio

I really like the design of these headphones because they feature unique color combinations but are not as intense and outrageous as most of the SkullCandy's designs. One feature unique to these headphones is that since they were designed for snowboarders and skiers, the earcups were made to keep your ears warm in the winter. The Siege Eleven's feature a long flat cord which is removable for maximum portability. The earcups are designed to swivel in every direction. The headphones collapse for easy travel and can be placed in the included travel pouch. The Siege Audio Eleven headphones are a good option because they are stylish and have not yet become mainstream. They come in 3 color combinations: Black & Cyan, White & Red and Yellow & Black

Crooks & Castles Premium BigR Audio Headphones

Crooks & Castles is a streetwear apparel company based in Los Angeles. It was created to be a direct reflection of the LA street lifestyle. Now, the company has decided to enter the fashion headphone market by developing their own headphones in partnership with BigR Audio.

The packaging of these headphones fit the stylish and urban look that Crooks & Castles is known for. They come packaged in a laser engraved bamboo box. The earcups feature the Crooks & Castles logo. While the large padding on the earcups make them comfortable, it does make the overall size of the headphones larger than most would like. The headphones feature the popular no-tangle flat cord. The headphones deliver a powerful bass with good, but not great, sound quality. Overall, the Crooks & Castles BigR Audio Headphones are a good investment if you are looking for an over-ear headphone that wont break the bank and don't mind the large size.

Deron Williams SkullCandy Hesh Players Series Headphones

SkullCandy has had an exclusive contract with the NBA and some of its best players for the past few years. They have customized designs on their Hesh headphones for some of the NBA's new and upcoming young players. The Hesh headphones have been a top seller for SkullCandy for a while now so i thought i would review them. They're made of plastic so they are durable but some complain that they feel cheap. The style options for these headphones are endless. A complimentary travel bag is included with the Hesh headphones; however, the ear-cups don't collapse, so they can be difficult to transport at times. The sound quality is decent, nothing to write home to mom about. The headphones leak a noticeable amount of sound, enough to turn a few heads on the subway (but then again why not share that new track with the guy sitting next to you?).

The  NBA Players SkullCandy headphones are not the best sounding headphones, but if you like the design (and at the affordable price), they just might be the right headphones for you.

Deron Willams Price: $49.95 (might go on sale now that he's no longer on the Jazz)

Pros
  • Countless Designs
  • Loud Sound
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Durability
  • Built with Plastic
  • Better Options

Sony PIIQ Impact Resistant Headphones

The Impact Resistant headphones are the lowest priced on-ear headphones in the Sony PIIQ line. Like the title states, these headphones are impact resistant so its durability is excellent. They are made of a hard rubberry plastic material that is similar to the same material that you can find on most Ipod shells or cases. The earpads are soft and well-cushioned which help eliminates most ear fatigue. The flat cord is extremely similar to the one that is used in the the Beats by Dre line. If they had great sound quality, then these headphones would considered a steal at $30. Unfortunately, many genres of music tend to sound muddy and at times, the bass is overwhelming. Like with most inexpensive headphones, sound leaks easily from the earcups. Overall, the Sony PIIQ Impact Resistant Headphone are a good option due to their versatility, design and relatively low price.

KISS Super Bass LiveNation Headphones

One of the most popular bands in the history of rock music, KISS, has given its fans a way of taking them with them whenever they listen to music. The colorful headphones exemplify the excitement and flashiness that KISS is known for. The band name is inscribed in black on the tip of the headband and in silver on the side of the earcups. While wearing these headphones, everyone will know that you are are a hardcore KISS fan. The headphones can be folded back for easy travel. The sound quality is not very good since these are more of a novelty item than anything. LiveNation are the distributers of these headphones so you can find them on their website. The relatively low price tag make these an affordable option for serious KISS fans who want to relive the good old days every time they listen to music.

Miles Davis Monster Tribute Headphones

The Miles Davis Tribute Headphones were made by Monster to be a collector's item that could be appreciated by audiophiles and fans alike. Miles Davis was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. His impact in jazz is like no other.  Monster wanted to immortalize Miles Davis by making a signature headphone that is highest in quality and construction.

Since these are Monster's top of line headphones, they don't come cheap. Monster has thrown in more accessories into the package than any other headphone I have ever seen. It includes 3 luxurious cases for protecting your earbuds. The package also includes a special 2-CD Legacy Edition of Miles Davis' classic 1959 recording, Kind of Blue. The style of the headphones is elegant and stylish.  One side features Monster's logo and the other has the Miles Davis logo. The earbuds themselves are heavy because they are plated in 24k gold. Fortunately, there is no discomfort from the weight because of the vast options of eartips that are customized for nearly any ear size. These earbuds feature Monster's patented Super Tips that were created to provide superior noise isolation, powerful bass, and precise sound reproduction. One feature that I really liked about these headphones is that they have a lifetime warranty. Monster will replace the headphones even if you break them yourself! The Miles Davis Monster Tribute Headphones are quite expensive, but well worth it, as they are some of the best headphones on the market.

V-Moda Vibe Premium Headphones

V-Moda's headphones always exemplify style and class, and the Vibe earbuds are no exception. The V-Moda Vibe headphones are much less expensive than the Vibrato In-Ear Heapdhones that I reviewed earlier. Even though they are much less expensive, the design still encompasses V-Moda's unique and modern style. I really like the shiny metallic and jewel-like accents which make the earpieces really pop. The earpieces are smaller than most but they still might be uncomfortable for those who have smaller ears. The Vibe headphones has a decent cord that is thin, yet durable. Even though V-Moda doesn't advertise these as noise-canceling, when listening to them it sound like they are because of the heavy bass. Those who enjoy extreme bass and can live with mediocre sound quality will enjoy this product. The V-Moda Vibe headphones come in 5 colors: Chrome, Gunmetal Black, Midnight Blue, Blush & Red Roxx
