They are a must have for any skier or snowboarder as they might be that extra help you need to land that tough trick you’ve been trying for years.
Because of my doubts about the collaboration of clothing and technology in the past, I was skeptical about testing out the Sound Disk Beanie. However, after testing them out for a few days, I have a renewed confidence. Inside of the beanie there are 2 small slits where you place each of the sound disks, which are basically small speakers. Once the sound disks are inside the beanie, you can adjust them to fit as close to your ears as you would like. I was expecting the beanie to leak a lot of sound, but I was completely wrong. Unless you have your MP3 player at max volume, not even the person sitting next to you on the ski lift up the mountain will know what song your listening to. I really liked that the beanies, even with the speakers, aren’t bulky at all. One flaw is that there is no way anyone could know your beanie is different from anyone else’s. Sound quality is definitely not one of its pros, but were you really expecting great sound with beanie headphones?!
I tested out 2 styles of the Aerial7 Sound Disk Beanie: Blue Bonfire & Black Perisher. The Blue Bonfire beanie is an oversized beanie that is much thinner than the Black Perisher. Both are made of an extremely comfortable material with the black one being a little thicker and warmer. Overall, the Aerial7 Sound Disk Beanie is a great gift for anyone who loves music and enjoys winter sports. They are available in 14 different colors and styles.
The Royale series headphones by Aerial7 are not intended for the causal music enthusiast. This pricey model designed by Aerial7's top series, A-List, is definitely not messing around. At first glance, the professional over-the-ear DJ style Royale's seam a bit large and imposing. The large size assures a comfortable listening experience with an adjustable patent full-grain leather headband that is complemented by soft premium ear cushions.
These headphones provide sound of highest quality, delivering crystal clear low's, mid's, and high's through their 50mm speakers. The over-the-ear headphones allow for clear isolation of beats to repel any ambient noise. What I like about these headphones is that while they seem optimal for DJ's, they are also a fashionable alternative for any music-listener. While there is no doubt that the quality of sound delivered by the Royale's is great, the $400 dollar price tag is anything but great. The high price tag isn't warranted, as there are other options with similar sound quality for half the costs. Unless you love the Aerial7 Royale design, there are several alternatives that are much more affordable. They are available in 2 designs: Bourbon & Absolute White.
Aerial 7 has teamed with DJ Jam to create his signature headphone using the Tank Platinum model. For those of you who don't know, DJ Jam is the official DJ for Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and other prominent artists. It's a little ironic that the official DJ of the man with one of the most popular headphone companies of all time doesn't use Beats. Snoop Dogg also has his own signature headphone with SkullCandy. Like i said, the DJ Jam signature headphone is just another design to the Aerial7 Tank Premium model.
The Aerial7 Tank headphones target the same market as SkullCandy, so its hard not to compare. This "Young, Wild, and Free" crowd demands loud music, color options, and low prices. While the Aerial7 Tank headphones hit these three issues, they seemed to forget the rest. The plastic construction feels cheap. Despite the relatively large ear cups, they aren't very comfortable. Lastly, music is loud but not clear or precise. The Aerial7 Tank Headphones come in 10 color combinations.
The new Phoenix headphones are the cheapest on-ear headphones offered by Aerial7. The company is known for their eye catching designs because of the stylish color combinations offered. Some might be turned away from the over-the-top color choices offered with these headphones, but I personally like them. The one problem with the design is the large logo on the outside of the ear cups. It might just be me, but I really don't like the Aerial7 arrow logo. It looks the same as the "Above the Influence" logo, which is the advertising campaign of the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. I don't know about you, but I don't want to walk down the street and have people think I'm rocking anti-drug headphones.
The Aerial7 Phoenix headphones were designed with a DJ in mind since the earcups swivel 180 degrees. The problem with this design feature is that 99% of the people that buy these headphones are not DJ's. Another problem I have is the extremely small and uncomfortable ear cups. One good aspect is that these headphones can play music really loud. Even though they sound better then I initially predicted, they still don't sound great when played extremely loud. While the Aerial7 Phoenix may have many funky color options, they are not worth buying because of the many design flaws and average sound quality. The Chopper2's are over-ear headphones that have a retro style look to them. These Chopper2 headphones were created for the urban hipster who wants great sound quality and a unique urban design that not many other people have. The headphones feel sturdy and not at all cheap, like some other I have reviewed. The headphones are on the large side but Aerial7 has made the most of the padding by making them extremely comfortable. Sound quality is great for the price, but not compared to some of the more expensive headphones on the market today. The Aerial7 Chopper2's are a good option for those looking for a headphone that very unique, comfortable and moderately priced.
